There Will Be Time to Repent

A red rose.

The time of God’s judgment gives us a chance to repent if we are still alive. Everyone is born with a tendency to sin, regardless of how they have lived. Because Adam, the first human, disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden, we have all become sinners. But for everyone there will be time to repent.

Since we are alive right now, we should choose to stop singing while we still have the chance. Even if we think we have many years left, we do not know when our time will come. If we did, we might be tempted to wait until the last moment.

Because our time is uncertain, repenting now is the wise and necessary choice for those who hope to enter Heaven. If entering Heaven is your goal, make repentance and change a priority now. It may not be easy, but do your best and ask Jesus for help as you proceed.

I met Jesus six years ago, and He has been helping me overcome my sins. There are still some I struggle with, but I keep working on them and pray every day. Remember, it takes time to change, and Satan tries to keep us trapped in sin until it is too late.

Reflecting again on the idea of “There Will Be Time to Repent,” I once believed God’s judgment marked the point of no return for change.

To better understand this, let’s look at Revelation 14:7 (NIV): He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and the springs of water.”

Here is what the Bible says happens to those who do not repent before judgment day. Revelation 14: 9-11 NIV  9.A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or their hand,

10 They, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels of the Lamb.

11 And the smoke of their torment will rise forever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.”

Following this, Revelation 14:17-20 offers further imagery of judgment. 17. Another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle. 18 Still another angel, who had charge of the fire, came from the altar, and called in a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle,

“Take your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of grapes from the earth’s vine, because its grapes are ripe. ”19. The angel swung his sickle on the earth, gathered its grapes, and threw them into the great winepress of God’s wrath.

20.They were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed out of the press, rising as high as the horses’ bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia (about 183.93 miles today.

Next, Revelation 16:8-9 describes more of the consequences faced by those who refuse to repent: 8. The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. 9.They were seared by the intense heat, and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.

Continuing with the next verses, Revelation 16:10-11 (NIV) states: 10.The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness.

People gnawed their tongues in agony 11.and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done. This passage further highlights people’s responses during these judgments.

Thank you for reading. My hope is that this message encourages you to reflect and act now.
