This post, “Steps To Defeat Satan Attacks,” is based on information from Ephesians 6:11-17 NIV. When someone does or says something that upsets you, especially if it is not biblical, you automatically get upset with that person.
Ephesians 6:11-17 * 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. You forgot to realize it was not the person who upset you, but Satan controlling that person’s mind.
You should pray for that person, instead of getting angry with them, because Satan wants you to get angry so that he can control your mind too.
The Rulers – are people exercising government or dominion over other people, and Satan has control of their minds. The Authorities – are people or organizations that are in charge, and Satan has control of their minds too.
The Powers of this dark world are satanic spiritual beings. Their purpose is to mislead Godly and Ungodly people here on earth. The spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms are operating in a place between Heaven and Earth.
When you become a believer, Satan’s evil spirits come after you; they are trying to convince you that it is OK to continue doing the sins you used to do, but you know better. Ephesians 6:13 explains what you have to do to protect your mind.
Ephesians 6:14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist. Train yourself constantly to be truthful and always tell the truth, so when Satan tells you a lie or tries to make you tell a lie, you will not be deceived by his trickery.
The breastplate of righteousness means you always try to do what is right and pleasing to God. You already know what is right and wrong from the lesson Adan and Eve learned from eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
The gospel of peace comes from studying the Word of God. If you have the gospel of peace, you will be ready for any inconvenience Satan brings your way. Peace is a gift from God. He will give you peace when you get to know Him personally.
The shield of faith is a must; without it, you cannot fully fulfill your obligation to God. You must believe that He exists and will do all He said He would do.
Your confidence and/or trust in God is a demonstration of your faith, and without faith, you cannot please God. Your faith can extinguish Satan’s attacks on your mind.
Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Faith is the only system of perception that is totally devoid of any human merit. Only the object has merit, and in salvation, the object of faith is Our Lord Jesus Christ. No one has ever been saved by asking Jesus to come into their heart or life.
The sword of the Spirit is the word of God, which is written in the bible. This tool is handy whenever Satan attacks you, so it is a good idea to get to know God’s word. You have to study God’s word so you will not forget His word when Satan starts messing with your mind.
