You Never Know What Someone Is Going Through

Two people hugging each other.

These days, more people are having a hard time than before. Still, unless you live with someone, you probably don’t know what they’re facing. It’s important to remember that you never really know what someone is going through.

Most people who are struggling—whether it’s financially, mentally, physically, or spiritually—often don’t share their situation with others who might help. Usually, only their close friends know what’s really going on.

Some people who are struggling believe that God will help them through their troubles. God may help them, but it might not happen in the way they expect.

Everyone should pay attention to those who might be struggling, including families. Some people may smile and dress well, but inside, they are hurting and just trying to get through each day.

That’s why you may never really know what someone else is facing.

Close relatives and friends often have to figure out who needs help. If you pay attention, you might already know which neighbors are having a tough time.

If you see that your friends need help, do what you can for them. You can also ask other neighbors who are able to help to join in.

A real friend can tell when their close neighbors need help, even if nothing is said. If you know someone is struggling, don’t wait for them to ask—step in and help.

Sometimes, you have to force them to accept your support by taking whatever you offer to their residence or to a place they can access and leaving the assistance there. Some needy neighbors may say no with their mouths, but their hearts are sIt helps to ask your neighbors to let others know to watch out for anyone who might need help in the neighborhood.y think may need assistance.

If you can’t help, let other neighbors who can help know about the situation. People want to keep their personal lives private, so respect their privacy as much as possible. But if you can, try to get them some help.

Jesus supports and protects his people, but many people who are struggling today don’t know him. They can’t ask someone they don’t know for help, so it’s up to Christians to help them and pray for Jesus to meet their needs.

Whenever you have a meal, remember that someone else might not have that chance. Someone may be fine financially but still struggling spiritually. Christian neighbors should also share the good news and pray for each other.

We should get used to being there for others, whether they need help or not. Look for ways to help—big or small, your actions can make a difference to someone.

We need to start helping our neighbors and anyone who needs support. Maybe you can’t give money, but if you think about it, you’ll find something you can offer. When you do, you’ll be blessed in return.

Faith Without Works Is Dead

James 2:14-17 ESV  14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good[a] is that? 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
