I Never Knew Satan Until I Met Jesus

An image of Jesus and Satan.

Satan was attacking my mind all along, but since I was not a follower of Jesus, he did not put much pressure on me. That is why I titled this post: “I never knew Satan until I met Jesus.”

I did not want to be the one to tell you this because I was afraid it would deter you from coming to Jesus. However, when you become a follower of Jesus, Satan will increase his pressure on your mind. Now, let me tell you, having Jesus in your life is better than anything Satan can ever do or offer.

I have sinned a lot in my lifetime simply because I did not know Jesus. I did not know Jesus existed. I was a member of a Christian Church, attending Sunday worship services and occasionally on Wednesday evenings. I paid my tithes and gave in offerings.

My wife was a Christian; although she is now deceased, she loved attending church while she was alive. I would go with her, even though I did not believe Jesus existed. I did not tell her or any of the church members that Jesus did not exist.

I knew they thought Jesus did exist, and I did not want to discourage them by telling them Jesus did not exist.

I thought I was doing the right thing and everything was okay. I did not know Satan back then either; although he had control of my mind, I did not notice it. Now, I realize Satan did not have to use much pressure on my mind because he already had total control of my mind.

I did not have much trouble with Satan trying to control my mind until I realized Jesus was honest, and that is when I discovered Satan is real, too. I have always heard people telling others to go to Jesus for help. I never went to Jesus to be saved because I did not know he existed, but thank God, Jesus came to me. Perhaps Jesus will reach everyone on earth.

Jesus showed me that Satan had total control of my mind, and I was about to

enter hell, and I had no idea what was about to happen. To illustrate how a person can be lost and not even realize it. I want to thank Jesus for showing up at the right time.

I am probably not the only person who thought everything was okay, but I was almost in hell. Some people are like I was I did not commit many sins. I went to church, paid my tithes, and knew I was not a bad person. But then, I never knew Satan until I met Jesus.

My problem was that I was trying to live a decent lifestyle, the kind of lifestyle that church people say you are supposed to live. But I had missed the true meaning of salvation. When I was doing all the so-called good things, Satan wanted me to believe I would go to Heaven by doing good deeds only.

I was unaware of God’s mercy back then; in fact, I knew nothing about God, period. I had heard about God because I used to go to church with my wife. I went to church because my wife enjoyed attending church, and I thought I might learn something.

You hear the term “Go to Jesus,” but what if we cannot go to Jesus? Maybe He must come to us, which He did for me. I think that it is God’s mercy when you receive the opportunity to spend eternity in Heaven when you are indeed a rotten Godless person like I was.

Now that I have received God’s mercy, I do get visits from Satan, but thank God I have Jesus to protect my mind from Satan’s attacks. When you become a follower of Jesus, you become less interested in worldly things.
